Itinerary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our Wihina Safaris local guide who will provide a warm Ugandan welcome and drive you with your luggage to your lodge. You recover from the exertions of the flight with dinner at your accommodation and slowly begin to look forward to the exciting next 2 weeks that lie ahead of you.
On this day after breakfast, start your day with the mighty Kampala City Tour experience visiting places like: Uganda National Museum, Kasubi tombs, the Gaddafi mosque, Bahati temple of Kampala and many more places. An evening cultural Ndere dance experience in Ntinda shall make thy day memorable.
After breakfast at your hotel, begin the journey northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s most iconic wilderness areas. You will make a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary a conservation project aimed at protecting Uganda’s endangered Rhinoceros population. For about 1hour in the wild, you will have an opportunity to track these magnificent creatures on foot accompanied by experienced guides who will share knowledge on their behaviors. You will drive to Masindi Inn Hotel for lunch before you may transfer to the top of the falls in Murchison Falls National Park to feel the early explorers’ feet. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Rise with the sun for an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, a wildlife haven renowned for its diverse array of species. As you go through the Savannah plains, keep your sightings of lions, elephants, buffaloes, and a myriad of antelope species while enjoying a picnic breakfast in the jungle. After Lunch at the lodge, you will continue with your search for wildlife while on a 3hours boat safari along the Victoria Nile where you will see plenty of hippos, crocodiles and countless bird species along the shores. You will return to the lodge for an evening community walk before you may retire for a campfire under the stars, dinner and an overnight stay.
Early in the morning, you will be transferred to your next destination Fort Portal, near Kibale Forest NP. Along the way, you will be offered an awesome scenic view of Butiaba escarpment and a picturesque village of Kitonsa where the Martyr Andrew Kaggwa was born. After lunch, you will expect a great taste to a lovely nature with a stopover at the probably most beautiful viewpoint of Uganda with great views of the East African Rift Valley. When time allows, you will be offered an easy and wonderful short hike along some crater lakes in the north of Fort Portal for 1hour, then a visit to Tooro palace and Fort Portal cathedral. Transportation to Nkuruba Lodge for checking in and an overnight stay.
After an early morning breakfast, at around 8 am, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing by an expert park ranger guide. You will proceed to track the primate that is highly recommended as man’s cousin of all the apes in this vast Kibale forest. The rangers will guide you to one family of the chimpanzees and if you are lucky they will come to the ground sitting and extending themselves next to you. After they have been tracked, you will be given a maximum of an hour time to watch them perform their duties and take pictures with them if you can. You are most likely to sight other primates like olive baboons, bonobos, red colobus, black and white colobus, red and blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey among others as well as a wide variety of birds’ species.
After lunch, our company guide will take you through the top of the world view point and a crater lake drive including a visit to lake Ndali which is so famous on Uganda’s current 20.000 Ugx note, fresh lake Mwamba, the beautiful Mahoma falls where you can even have a one stop refreshing shower, and some tea plantations experiences etc. You will get back to your lodge for Dinner, refreshment and an overnight.
You will check out of the lodge after breakfast and drive to Ruboni close to Mt Rwenzori for your full day community walk experiences. While at Ruboni community, you have an opportunity to enjoy the scenic views, as you glimpse into local village life of the Bakonzo people. Enjoy the backdrops of the Rwenzori mountain and plenty of bird species wile on your full day interaction with nature. You can choose between a cultural walk, a forest walk or a hill walk depending on your interests or just relax in Ruboni to enjoy the great cultural atmosphere. You will check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After your breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of Uganda’s most popular tourist destination receiving one of the highest number of visitors in country every year of all national parks. The Park is famed for its beautiful landscapes made up of growing savanna plains, outnumbered grassy hills, plenty of crater lakes and lovely backdrops of the Rwenzori mountain ranges in the far distance. Before reaching the park, you will have a stopover at the viewpoint for a drink as you witness an over view of the whole park area and also a stop at the updated equator line for the North and Southern hemisphere experiences.
You will have your lunch at Kazinga channel view resort with the opportunity to take a guided walk to the channel expecting to see hippos and some crocodiles on the shore. A visit to the salt lakes in Katwe in the afternoon is a must for a little experience on how salt is manufactured. On the way back you will see other salt lakes with buffaloes and hippos at the shore. With a little luck we will also spot families of elephants on their way to the channel for receiving water. You will have dinner, an organized camping experience and sleep over at your lodge.
Begin your day with an early morning breakfast before heading to search for various mammal species in the jungle using different trails in the park. It is documented to have about 95 animal species and 612 bird species. Along the Kasenyi trail, there is a great opportunity of seeing various animals like water bucks, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs as well as various birds and of course lions and the leopard on lucky days. You will do a crater drive along the way to Mweya Peninsular for about 1hour.
After lunch, you will take pleasure in cruising on a 2 hours’ boat safari along Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward from Mweya penisula. It is on this boat ride that one expects to see a lot of Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, among others and also a collection of birds like the malachite kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, on the banks and in trees. You will go back to the lodge refresh, dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, embark on the long journey directly to Kisoro for about 5 hours from Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southwest of Uganda with lots of mountains, rainforests, tea plantation and of course a lot of viewpoints. You will relax and have lunch at Travelers’ Rest Restaurant in Kisoro town before you may proceed for your next activity at Sagitwe Volcanic caldera for a 1:30minutes hike. From the top of Sagitwe you will have a very nice and amazing view of the volcanoes on the border between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. You will drive to your lodge for checking in, dinner and an overnight stay.
Be up with the early bird, taking a cup of hot coffee with a snack and be at the tourism office by 8:00 am for some briefing by the Ranger guides about the general trekking experiences. Get porters to carry your extra luggage and start off your real exciting Mountain gorilla trekking safari. Ascend steep, rugged, mist covered, thick forested hills and get in the mix with thousands of other primates, birds, mammals, insects and different wildlife species sharing habitat with gorillas and walk in their foot prints. The exciting feeling of challenging the impenetrable forests, meeting up with the gorillas and everything about the jungles is so captivating and your brief duration of life in the jungle will stretch your imagination. You will spend just one hour with gorillas within which you will have grasped almost everything about the gorillas. Get back to your hotel for a late lunch before you may go for an afternoon canoeing on the lake to have the deepest feeling of this Lake’s beauty. You may also opt to enjoy this beautiful place by swimming and relaxing at the jetty with a wonderful view over the lake and the volcanoes behind. This place is really worth 100 % to be there. You will retire at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we drive you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, where you will opt either to take on a 6 to 7 hours hike to the summit of Mt. Sabinyo or go for a Golden Monkey Trekking. Depending on your interests. You will relax after lunch before you may go for Kisoro town tour and a coffee tour experience. Have the Batwa Cultural Experience before dinner and sleep over at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will leave Lake Mutanda to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest game park in Uganda. Lake Mburo national park is a home to 68 different species of mammals including leopard, hyena and buffalo. The scenic drive to L. Mburo will take you around 6 hours through small villages, coffee and banana plantations and rolling hills. You will stop for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara before we drive inside the National Park for 2 full days staying inside the park. After check in you will have an opportunity to take a boat trip on Lake Mburo in search for more bird species including the kingfisher, the African fish eagle and white-winged warbler. Not forgetting the popular hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes along the shores of the lake. Retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will walk out on to the plains with our driver guide to spend around 3 hours exploring the African wilderness. You will have a chance to see giraffes, zebras, impalas and numerous bird species including the famous shoe bill. You will learn about the park’s local flora such as the acacia and the papyrus in addition to their impacts to the locals. Your lunch you will have in the famous Mihinga Lodge on the top of the rocks overviewing the plains of the park with some waterholes nearby where you can spot animals like zebras and antilopes. After lunch the driver guide continue the drive through the park back to the lodge taking other roads where you can see more wildlife. You will retire to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
At 7.30am after breakfast in the morning, you will have a short game drive while taking the road to the northern park entrance. The journey to Entebbe will take about 5 hours. You shall have a stopover at the equator line in Kayabwe for lunch, stretch, and taking pictures with an optional experience of water between the South and Northern hemisphere. You will proceed after an awesome collection of memories in the past fifteen days to your accomondation in Entebbe before flying out the next day.
After breakfast in the morning, our driver guide will bring you the airport for departure. If time allows you are allow to visit Entebbe zoo and the Entebbe botanical garden and also have your exposure to the beach life of Ugandans.
