OVERVIEW:
This 3 days Queen Elizabeth National Park trip will take you through a variety of mammal species and birds. The park is considered among the most bio diversified wildlife sanctuary having chimpanzees, lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and among others. While at Kazinga channel one is able to view Hippos, Crocodiles & Monitor Lizards and so forth. It is here at the channel that many animals come to drink water, cool off from the hot sun and take shelter from predators. The birders on a good day at Kazinga channel expect to meet a number of bird species like the White-backed Duck, Knob-billed Duck, Egyptian Goose, and among others!
The Park is one of Uganda’s most popular tourist destinations, annually receiving one of the highest number of visitors of any country’s national parks. It is one of the top wildlife safaris destinations in Uganda, and the popular beautiful landscapes made up of growing savanna plains, outnumbered grassy hills, plenty of crater lakes and lovely backdrop of the Rwenzori mountain that range in the far distance makes the place worth a visit.

Itinerary
After breakfast from your lodge, the company driver will meet, greet and brief you about the whole 3 days journey of 7 to 9 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Kampala. You will have a stopover at the famous equator line at Kayabwe along Masaka road to witness the water balancing and the memorable pictures while standing on both the Northern and the Southern Hemisphere along the way.
The en-route lunch stop point will be at Igongo cultural center just before the driver will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Mbarara through Ishaka while enjoying the breathtaking view of the rift valley escarpments, crater lakes and the diverse woodlands before we may end the day with a visit to the famous salt mining tour at Lake Katwe.
You will check into your lodge and enjoy the view of Kazinga channel and animals from the park at your lodge of comfort.

You will begin the day with a morning breakfast before heading to the main gate of the park to starting the search for various mammal species in the jungle using different trails in the park. About 95 animal species and 612 bird species are documented in this park. Along the Kasenyi trail, there is a great opportunity of seeing various animals like water bucks, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, warthogs as well as various birds. The game drive will last for about 4 hours while enjoying the beautiful fauna and flora. Expect to see four of the big five animals on a lucky day.
After our game drive, there will be a chance to do a crater lakes drive along the way to the headquarters of UWA at Mweya. This one hour drive experience will start from the Queens pavilion having different stops as we continue to enjoy the jungle. You will have your delicious lunch as you enjoy the beautiful views of Kazinga channel at Mweya restaurant.
You will take pleasure, after lunch, in cruising on a 2 hours’ boat safari along Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. It is on the ride that one expects a lot of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a collection of birds like the kingfishers, pelicans, and others using a comfortable UWA boat. On the way back to the lodge we take the road through the National Park with a big chance of seeing more wildlife especially families of elefants on the way to the channel to drink water. You will go back to the lodge refresh, Dinner and Overnight.
NB: You can opt for an experiential game drive at an added fee of $250 to opt for the leopards and lions with an experienced ranger to back up the game drive.

After an awesome collection of memories in the past two days, the day will start with a tasty breakfast. You will then check out of the lodge at exactly 7:00am, and proceed for the famous Chimpanzee trekking at Kyambura gorge. In accordance with the chances of the primates’ availability, you will spend about 3 to 4 hours in the jungle.
You will have your lunch along the way, before we may proceed to Kampala to be dropped off at your hotel or to the airport in the evening.
