Itinerary
You will be picked by our Wihina Safaris company driver guide who will greet and brief you about the whole journey. You will start your journey with a short visit to Kigungu peninsular where the first two religious men (Fr. Simeon Lourdel and Brother Amans) who brought Christianity in Uganda landed (1879). After lunch and relaxation, you will transfer to Mabamba conservation area for some birding experiences before you may transfer to Kampala for dinner and an overnight stay.
On this day, you will visit Uganda martyr’s Namugongo shrine famed for the Martyrs who were burnt live because of their faith in the years 1885 to 1887. You will then visit Rubaga Cathedral for Christians and Namirembe cathedral for Anglicans before your transfer to the Uganda National Mosque (The Gaddhaffi Mosque) which is located on a raised 25m high onto the top of the old Kampala hill. After lunch, you will visit the famous Bahati temple one of the nine World’s temples in Africa. You will visit to the famous traditional Kasubi tombs where the giant kings of Buganda kingdom are laid and end the day with a visit to Uganda Museum. Have the Ndere Cultural dance experience in Ntinda before an overnight stay.
You will start this day with a transfer to Jinja the capital of adventure in Uganda. You will have a stop at the famous Seziwa falls for a brief experience of nature and another stop at Namawojolo for barbecue taste. You will cruise on to the source of the Nile to feel the first footstep of the first explorers. There will be an optional 5 course white water rafting or bungee jumping or quad biking or horse riding at extra charge. You will visit the famous site for the Uganda’s Anglican murdered Bishop Hannington James and his murdered 48 followers in Mayuge district. You will retire your lodge for an overnight stay.
On this day after an early breakfast at the hotel, you shall take on a journey to Kapchorwa through Mbale. Once arrived at the hotel, you check in and prepare yourself for the famous 3 Sipi Falls Hike (which takes about 3 to 4 hrs). It is here that you shall highlight the beautiful view of Lake Kyoga, Karamoja plains and coffee plantations. We stop the hike for a delicious lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon you can continue the hike to the bottom of the first and highest waterfall and the abseiling landing point. Participate in an option abseiling activity to have that memory at heart or relax at one of the beautiful viewing points to the waterfall where you have the chance to take excellent photos. Other activities after lunch are mountaineering and bird watching to see birds like an African blue fly catcher, Jackson’s francolin, Black shouldered kite and others. Also don’t miss the amazing sunset over the Karamoja plains. Your guide will also introduce you to the customs of the Sabiny people before returning to your lodge for dinner and sleep over.
After an early breakfast in the hotel, we will drive along the Karamoja plains to Moroto with excellent views to the scenic Mt. Kadam. Arrived in Moroto, you will enjoy an early lunch before starting a beautiful mountain Moroto hiking experience for 4 hours. In the evening, you will visit the memorable karamoja people’s lifestyles and cultural experiences including their dances, feeding and so forth. You will end the day with dinner and an overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park located in Kaabong district on the extreme north- eastern corner of Uganda. It boarders South Sudan and Kenya covering a total area of 1442 Square Kilometers. It is here that you shall enjoy an open savannah grassland reflecting an Africa’s finest true wilderness composed of a mixture of dry thickets, short trees and shrubs. You will check in at the lodge for lunch and fresh up. In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the park that hosts over 77 mammal species, 475 bird species and 692 plant species. Retire at your lodge for refreshing, dinner and overnight.
On this day after morning breakfast, you shall start the day with a game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park. You will then have a long journey stopping at Painomol in Kitgum for a beautiful memory of the Martyrs Irwa and Okello. You shall have your lunch on the way to the North Western Uganda through Gulu to Karuma falls. You will unwind your evening with a visit to the top of the falls before you will retire at your lodge with a delicious dinner.
Early in the morning, you will go in the park to find over 76 mammal species including the four members of the big five animals; lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes. You will have your lunch at the lodge before joining a 3hours boat cruise along the Albert Nile to the bottom of the most unique powerful Murchison waterfalls. Enjoy the famous hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes, and plenty of bird species along the shores. Have a walk to the local community interacting with the local people as well enjoying an African beauty. Experience an Adungu dance at night after dinner before you may sleep over.
After breakfast, you will continue with your journey through the very dramatic and scenic Butiaba escarpment to Hoima, Bukuumi to Mubende. Along the way, you will have a stopover at Hoima cathedral parish, Kitonsa Martyrs shrine in Bukuumi a place where the Martyr Andrew Kaggwa originates. Visit Sacred heart seminary Mubende a school that trains future responsible church leaders as you may also visit Mubende parish. This evening have a fantastic drive onto the top of Boma hill to experience the traditional Nakayima tree with its interesting stories of origin. Retire to your lodge for dinner and sleep over.
After breakfast, you will continue with your journey with a visit to Sempaya hotsprings (male and female) in Semuliki National Park. Don’t forget to bring some eggs and matooke to experience them boiled in the hot springs. After lunch, you will expect a great taste to a lovely nature with a stopover at the probably most beautiful viewpoint of Uganda with great views of the East African Rift Valley. When time allows, you will be offered an easy and wonderful short hike along some crater lakes in the north of Fort Portal for 1hour, then a visit to Tooro palace and Fort Portal cathedral. Have your dinner and sleep over at your lodge in Fort Portal.
After an early morning breakfast, at around 8 am, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing by an expert park ranger guide. You will proceed to track the primate that is highly recommended as man’s cousin of all the apes in this vast Kibale forest. The rangers will guide you to one family of the chimpanzees and if you are lucky they will come to the ground sitting and extending themselves next to you. After they have been tracked, you will be given a maximum of an hour time to watch them perform their duties and take pictures with them if you can. You are most likely to sight other primates like olive baboons, bonobos, red colobus, black and white colobus, red and blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey among others as well as a wide variety of birds’ species.
After lunch, our company guide will take you through a crater lake drive including a visit to lake Ndali which is so famous on Uganda’s current 20.000 Ugx note, fresh lake Mwamba, the beautiful Mahoma falls where you can even have a one stop refreshing shower, and some tea plantations experiences etc. You will get back to your lodge for Dinner, refreshment and an overnight.
After your breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of Uganda’s most popular tourist destination receiving one of the highest number of visitors of any country's national parks every year. The Park is one of the top wildlife safari destination in Uganda. It is famed for its beautiful landscapes made up of growing savanna plains, outnumbered grassy hills, plenty of crater lakes and lovely backdrops of the Rwenzori mountain ranges in the far distance. Before reaching the park, you will have a stopover at the viewpoint for a drink as you witness an over view of the whole park area and also a stop at the updated equator line for the North and Southern hemisphere experiences.
You will have your lunch at Kazinga channel view resort with the opportunity to take a guided walk to the channel expecting to see hippos and some crocodiles on the shore. A visit to the salt lakes in Katwe in the afternoon is a must for a little experience on how salt is manufactured. On the way back you will see other salt lakes with buffaloes and hippos at the shore. With a little luck we will also spot families of elephants on their way to the channel for receiving water. You may have an option for an evening community walk in Kaseese along Kilembe Road. After all you will have dinner, and sleep over.
Begin your day with an early morning breakfast before heading to search for various mammal species in the jungle using different trails in the park. It is documented to have about 95 animal species and 612 bird species. Along the Kasenyi trail, there is a great opportunity of seeing various animals like water bucks, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs as well as various birds and of course lions and the leopard on lucky days. You will do a crater drive along the way to Mweya Peninsular for about 1hour.
After lunch, you will take pleasure in cruising on a 2 hours’ boat safari along Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward from Mweya penisula. It is on this boat ride that one expects to see a lot of Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, among others and also a collection of birds like the malachite kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, on the banks and in trees. You will go back to the lodge refresh, dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, embark on the Journey to Bwindi (Buhoma or Ruhija), 309km which is about 6 to 8 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have chances of spotting the tree climbing lions lying on tree branches in the midmorning sunshine during a game drive in the sector. Proceed to Bwindi check in at your lodge for relaxation and overnight at your lodge
Be up with the early bird, taking a cup of hot coffee with a snack and be at the tourism office by 8:00 am for briefing by the Ranger guides about the general trekking experiences. Get porters to carry your extra luggage and start off your real exciting Mountain gorilla trekking safari. Ascend steep, rugged, mist covered, thick forested hills and get in the mix with thousands of other primates, birds, mammals, insects and different wildlife species sharing habitat with gorillas and walk in their foot prints. The exciting feeling of challenging the impenetrable forests, meeting up with the gorillas and everything about the jungles is so captivating and your brief duration of life in the jungle will stretch your imagination. You will spend just one hour with gorillas within which you will have grasped almost everything about the gorillas.
Get back to your hotel for a late lunch and depart from the jungle. Your safari driver will take you to Kabale and check in at a hotel on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner, overnight stay and more fun on your Uganda tour. On the way to the hotel, you will stop at Arcadia Hotel for spectacular views and sunset over the lake and when lucky over the volcanoes at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
You will wake up with the rising sun. Have breakfast in the lawns and seal your mountain gorilla safari with a brief exciting boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the serenity of the lake with cool breezes soothing your skin. Be alert for several attractive bird species on the lake and pay extra attention to guide’s moving stories. We will visit several islands on the lake including the famous punishment island. You will check out of the hotel by 11.00am for a journey to Lake Mburo NP. Have an African buffet lunch in Mbarara and an evening game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo NP is famous for its herds of buffaloes, giraffes and zebras which can be spotted all over the park. Don’t miss the hippos at the lakeside and the awesome Ankole cows rearing experiences. You will have your dinner and sleep over.
After your morning breakfast, have an early morning game drive to search for more mammal species that may have been missed the last evening. You will then embark on the journey to Masaka City visiting the burial grounds of Sr. Amedeo in Bwanda, Villa Maria where the first priests of Uganda were buried, the oldest Major Seminary Katigondo, Msgr Alosious Ngobya and lastly have an evening mass at Kitovu Cathedral Parish. Dinner and Overnight.

You will wander for more memories along the way as you have the next stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for some experiences. You will proceed to Kampala to be dropped off at your hotel or to the airport in the evening.
