On this martyr’s short circuit, you will be exposed to different places where different religious beliefs are held in Uganda. You will have your trip within the Central, Eastern, and Western parts of Uganda under the sense of prayers, meditations, respect of the sacred, offerings, penance, and so forth. You will engage in paying tribute to the architecture, and art and sometimes make long distances to different holy destinations in a view of showing love to the sacred.

Itinerary

You will be picked by our Wihina Safaris company driver guide who will greet and brief you about the whole religious tour. You will visit Kigungu a historical destination on Lake Victoria where the first Christian two men; Father Lourdel and Brother Amans landed as they introduced Christianity in Uganda. You will see beautiful religious monuments including the ones for these first two men. You will enjoy some cool nature on the cruise as you transfer to Kampala for refreshing, dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

On this day after your early morning breakfast, you will start your day with a visit to the only one of the world’s nine temples. This Bahati temple occupies about 52 acres where her disciples basically gather for meditation, prayers and relaxation. You will afterwards transfer to old Kampala hill to visit the famous Uganda National Mosque formerly known as the Gadhaffi Mosque. Enjoy the busy town of Kampala as you visit Kasuubi tombs famous for the burial grounds of the Baganda kings. After Lunch, you will visit Kiwamirembe where mother Mary revealed herself to some Christian believers. A visit to St. Balikudembe where one of the catholic Martyrs in the names of Balikudembe was killed. You will end your day with a visit to the major places of Rubaga cathedral for catholics and Namirembe cathedral for the Anglicans. You will check in at the lodge to enjoy your dinner and an overnight stay.

You will start this day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge before you may transfer to Mayuge district in Kyando village where the first Uganda’s Anglican Bishop Hannington James and 48 of his followers were murdered by the king of Buganda on 29th October in 1885 because of their evangelization. You will spend the day contemplating, praying, and attending an organized recollection at Jinja cathedral parish. You will retire to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will travel back to Kampala then to Masaka for more religious adventure. You will have a stopover at the famous equator line at Kayabwe to witness the water balancing and the memorable pictures while standing on both the Northern and the Southern Hemisphere along the way. You will visit Kitovu cathedra parish and the site for the late Msgr Alosius Ngobya. You will later after lunch visit Bukalasa and Katigondo seminaries to have some interaction with the young men trained to be future responsible church leaders. You will visit Bwanda convent and the burial grounds for the Banabikiira sisters including the one for the famous Sr. Amedeo. You will visit Villa Maria parish to witness the burial grounds of the first two Uganda’s catholic priests Fr. Victor and Fr. Basil just before you will go for dinner and an overnight stay.

On this day after breakfast, you will transfer to Mubende district. You will have a stop in Sembabule to visit the famous Bigo byamugenyi ancient ditches. You will be introduced to different interesting stories backing the presence of this place from the old ages of the Bachwezi prople. On your arrival in Mubende, you will visit the popular traditional Nakayima tree and you will have here the attached interesting old traditional stories of this Tree. You will visit Mubende parish and also Sacred heart seminary mubende an institution that trains future responsible religious leaders. You will retire for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, you will go back to Kampala with a stopover in Mityana. You will visit Mityana cathedral parish where three of the martyrs Noah Mawaggali, Luka Banabakintu and Matia Mulumba were killed. You will then have lunch in a local restaurant before you may visit Tanda a traditional place with a lot of mythical stories for the origin cause of people’s death. You will visit Munyonyo martyrs shrine in Kampala famous for the killing of the Martyrs Andrew kaggwa and Dennis Ssebugwawo. You will have your guided recollection at Mulago Parish as you prepare to celebrate the UGANDA MARTYRS DAY with the world before you may retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to the Martyrs shrine for a full day prayer life experience joining a lot of other pilgrims who will be coming to this destination. Namugongo is a popular destination in Uganda for the innocent martyrs who were burned live because of their faith on 3rd June 1886. Every year pilgrims from different parts of the world converge in this place to extend their love to the light showed by these martyrs to the world. The shrine has monuments, museum, recreation gardens and other facilities that are in line with commemoration of these martyrs. You will have your lunch at the nearby restaurant before you may continue with some interactions with different religious leaders and faithful groups in the late afternoon. You will later retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

You will start this day with your morning breakfast at the lodge. You will go attend mass at Namugongo cathedral parish before you may be dropped to the airport for your departure back home.
